Our programs are designed to strengthen professional competence, foster leadership, and expand opportunities for lifelong learning and collaboration.
By connecting midwives with national and international networks, RBI contributes to advancing maternal and newborn health while supporting a stronger, more resilient midwifery workforce for Indonesia.
Our Story
Ruang Bidan Indonesia (RBI) was founded on 26 June 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period that exposed significant challenges faced by midwives in accessing professional development, scientific resources, and collaborative networks. What began as a grassroots initiative quickly evolved into a growing movement dedicated to strengthening the midwifery workforce and improving maternal and newborn health in Indonesia.
Driven by a commitment to evidence-based practice and lifelong learning, RBI creates opportunities for midwives to learn, lead, innovate, and collaborate. Through educational programs, research initiatives, scholarship mentoring, and scientific forums, RBI supports the professional growth of midwives while fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and leadership.
Over the years, RBI has engaged midwives, students, educators, researchers, and healthcare professionals through flagship initiatives such as MidScoFest, Mentoring Class, and MidResTalk. These platforms connect participants with national and international experts, strengthening capacity and encouraging innovation in maternal and child health.
In 2025, RBI entered a new chapter by establishing Yayasan Ruang Bidan Indonesia, reinforcing its governance and expanding its potential for strategic partnerships. Today, RBI continues to work toward a future where every midwife is empowered to provide high-quality, evidence-based, and respectful care, contributing to healthier women, newborns, and communities across Indonesia.
